Located in one of the best fishing towns on Florida's Gulf Coast, it's just a short distance by boat to experience beautiful Homosassa Springs, Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge and the Gulf of Mexico. Wild manatees use Homosassa Spring as a warm water shelter during the winter. If you want to see a manatee, there is no better place to observe them in their natural habitat. The Gulf of Mexico offers scalloping, cruising and world class fishing. For those who like to dine on the water, there is an abundance of waterfront restaurants on the Homosassa River. “Swim with a Manatee” and Eco tours, as well as airboat rides are available. This is truly a boater’s paradise with an old Florida charm that has seemingly been lost in other maritime communities throughout the region.
On Hellgate Island, this idyllic retreat is a remote private property accessible only by boat. Being positioned just off the Homosassa River provides for a private, secluded setting that also shelters boats moored at the dock from wakes of other passerby boats. Nestled in front of a pristine, federally protected national wildlife preserve, the property renders the serenity, tranquility and beauty of nature. It has everything you need for your vacation getaway. Behold manatees, dolphins and diverse aquatic fowl right in front of a window.

It boasts charming decor, a beautiful heart of pine floor, tongue and groove ceilings, wood burning fireplace and an open floor plan. There is a separate laundry room, spacious screened porch, a deck with grill and picnic table at the front of the house and a well appointed dock. A cistern system provides non potable water while drinking water is provided through a bubbler. A raised walkway leading back connects to a separate cottage with loft, breakfast bar and full bathroom. The retreat can accommodate up to 8 adults with its three queen beds and a sofa bed in the main cabin. There is satellite internet access through Viasat (Dish) as well as streaming through 2 TVs.
Staying at the property instills an exotic, relaxed and often spiritual experience that is unforgettable and one you will want to experience again and again.
